What I Learned Co-Hosting a Global Conversation on Leadership & Workplace Resilience

title of the blog post What I Learned Co-Hosting a Global Conversation on Leadership & Workplace Resilience

Yesterday, Dr. Jọkẹ Coker and I hosted a webinar called Enhancing Organizational Resilience in a Shifting Landscape: The Pivotal Role of Leaders—and, I’m feeling energized and optimistic after the event.

We had over 50 attendees from across the world, including leaders from industries as diverse as tech, healthcare, education, and energy. Some are managing remote teams. Some are navigating high-stakes, on-site environments. Some are leading in countries that have experienced far more disruption than most of us can imagine—and are still finding ways to support their people with empathy, adaptability, and trust.

The conversation reminded me that resilience is both universal and deeply contextual. It’s not a checklist or a motivational quote. It’s a cultural condition, and it looks a little different in every organization.

Here’s what stood out most:

1. The need for reflection is real—and often missing.

The first “T” in the T.R.U.S.T. Resilience Snapshot framework we created and shared stands for Trigger Proactive Reflection. Leaders often skip this step, jumping straight to planning and productivity. However, pausing to name the change, acknowledge emotions, and make space for conversation unlocks better thinking and stronger alignment.

2. People are hungry for actionable frameworks.

From our T.R.U.S.T. Resilience Snapshot to the group discussions that followed, it’s clear that leaders don’t need more abstract inspiration. They need tools, language, and real-world examples they can take back to their teams today.

3. Global voices add depth to the conversation.

Hearing from attendees in different parts of the world—some of whom have led through political unrest, natural disasters, or economic collapse—added richness and credibility to the conversation. Resilience isn’t a buzzword. For many, it’s a survival skill that these leaders have already been called upon to utilize. Their understanding of the importance in caring for their teams and allowing space for sharing and safety confirmed that we are on the right track with this framework.

What’s Next?

I’m more committed than ever to helping companies build cultures that support resilience—not just in a crisis, but every day. Through my partnership with Dr. Coker, we are able to help companies create culture strategy and coach leaders through the T.R.U.S.T. Resilience Snapshot to create the environments they need to thrive during these chaotic times.
